As Director of Policy, Shada Islam is responsible for policy oversight of Friends of Europe’s initiatives, activities and publications. She is the former Europe correspondent for the Far Eastern Economic Review, Asia’s leading news and analysis magazine, and the German News Service (DPA) and has previously worked at the European Policy Centre. She moderates debates and speaks regularly at European and international conferences, including those organized by the EU, the European Parliament, the WTO and NATO as well as the OECD.

She is a regular commentator on European and global affairs for international media and frequently speaks to students at European and Asian universities.
