As vagas para lugares permanentes no secretariado do Provedor de Justiça Europeu são preenchidas por transferências ou promoções internas, transferência ou destacamento de funcionários de outras instituições ou organismos da União Europeia, ou por recrutamento a partir de listas de reserva constituídas na sequência de concursos públicos organizados pelo Serviço Europeu de Seleção do Pessoal (EPSO) ou por uma instituição ou organismo da UE.
As vagas para lugares temporários são divulgadas a nível interno, a fim de incentivar a progressão na carreira do pessoal, ou no sítio web do Provedor de Justiça Europeu. Normalmente, Provedor de Justiça informa as outras instituições comunitárias sobre estas vagas. Para os perfis que são necessários de forma mais regular no gabinete do Provedor de Justiça Europeu, este pode decidir publicar anúncios de abertura de vaga em aberto, de forma a criar um grupo de candidatos que podem ser chamados para a realização de testes e entrevistas quando necessário.
Os candidatos que foram bem-sucedidos num ou mais processos de seleção e que estão particularmente interessados em trabalhar para o gabinete do Provedor de Justiça Europeu são encorajados a contactar a Unidade «Administração/Pessoal/Orçamento» do Provedor de Justiça Europeu.

Director of Inquiries in the Office of the European Ombudsman (Article 29(1) (a) and (b) of the Staff Regulations)
This post is published in accordance with Article 29(1) (a) and (b) of the Staff Regulations of Officials of the European Union (senior management post). This selection procedure, which is designed to give the appointing authority the widest possible choice, will be conducted at the same time as an external recruitment procedure in accordance with Article 29(2) of the Staff Regulations.
The Inquiries Directorate will be in charge of the Office's core activities, which include conducting inquiries into possible cases of maladministration by the EU institutions, bodies and agencies and promoting good administrative practices.
The Director of Inquiries in the Ombudsman's Office must necessarily have a very good command of the English language. The documents concerning the notice of vacancy are therefore only available in English.
Candidates are informed that they are not allowed to contact personally members of the Advisory Selection Committee and that doing so constitutes grounds for disqualification from the procedure.

Estágios
Regras
O Provedor de Justiça oferece estágios, duas vezes por ano, principalmente para titulares de diplomas universitários ou equivalentes. Os estágios têm geralmente início em 1 de setembro e 1 de janeiro de cada ano. É publicado um convite à apresentação de candidaturas para cada período de estágio, em princípio em 1 de fevereiro e 1 de maio. O convite especifica os perfis pretendidos. Os estagiários serão colocados em Estrasburgo ou em Bruxelas em função das necessidades do Gabinete.
Os estagiários do Gabinete do Provedor de Justiça devem possuir obrigatoriamente um excelente conhecimento de inglês. Por conseguinte, as candidaturas devem ser enviadas em inglês. Pelas mesmas razões, os documentos relativos aos pedidos de estágio estão disponíveis apenas em inglês.
Traineeship period January 2021-December 2021
Due to the COVID 19-crisis and the ongoing traineeship selection for September 2020, the Ombudsman's Office considers to either postpone or cancel the publication of a notice inviting applications for January 2021. It was originally due to be published in May 2020. Our Office is committed to offer excellent conditions to trainees and therefore carefully considers how to adhere to this commitment despite the difficult circumstances.
