1. On 28 February 2018, the complainant sent an e-mail to the European Parliament complaining about the fact that the Flemish Committee for Scientific Integrity had refused to examine complaints he made against the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. The complainant reminded the European Parliament about the issue in emails sent on 5 March 2018 and 22 August 2018. As the complainant did not receive a reply, he turned to the European Ombudsman on 2 September 2018.

2. As the European Parliament replied to the complainant on 5 September 2018[1] and apologised for the delay, I have decided to close the case[2] as settled by the European Parliament.
