Dear Mr Barroso,

I am writing to inform you that I have today sent my Recommendations in the above case to the European Commission and asked it to send me its opinion thereon by 6 June 2018. I will publish my Recommendations on the Ombudsman’s website (publication expected on Tuesday 13 March 2018 at 10:00 CET). I will also, by that date, send a copy of my Recommendations to the complainants. I may also issue a press release on that date.
