Dear Mr. P.,
I am writing in reply to your complaint of 15 January 2000 concerning the allegation that the Commission failed to pay the amount of 2,276.49 EURO for work carried out by you.
After a careful examination of your complaint, the European Ombudsman had contacted the Commission on 10 February 2000 with a request to comment on your complaint. By letter of 15 May 2000, you informed the European Ombudsman that the Commission has paid the amount due.
The Ombudsman therefore considers that the Commission has taken steps to settle the matter.
The Ombudsman has therefore decided to close the case.
The President of the Commission will be informed of this decision.
