Decision in case 72/2019/JF on the Commission’s alleged failure to answer correspondence concerning an infringement case and a complaint of maladministration

1. On 18 November 2018, the complainant wrote to the Commission about the above matters. As the complainant did not receive a reply, he turned to the European Ombudsman, on 4 January 2019.

2. The Ombudsman’s inquiry team contacted the Commission. The Commission then replied to the complainant on 19 April 2019.

3. As a reply has now been sent, this complaint is resolved[1] and I have decided to close the case[2].

[1] If the complainant considers that the institution’s reply is not satisfactory, it is open to him/her/it to make a new complaint to the Ombudsman.
