Commission publishes documents on Greece's entry into the Eurozone

A German journalist asked the European Commission for access to documents on Greece's entry into the Eurozone. He got only very limited access to some of them and did not obtain any further feedback. After the Ombudsman had opened her investigation, the Commission launched an action plan to speed up the access request. In the end, it identified 140 documents and released all of them to the journalist.

Commission releases documents on Common Fisheries Policy

A German researcher complained to the Ombudsman after the Commission refused to grant him full access to a proposal for a new regulation on the Common Fisheries Policy. The Commission argued that full disclosure would undermine its decision-making process. In the end, the Commission followed the Ombudsman's recommendation to release the documents, although only after an agreement on reform of the Policy had been reached.
