Inspection request
On 18 February 2025, the Ombudsman requested to inspect the following documents:
- Any documents that the Commission holds in relation to the former DG Competition (DG COMP) staff member’s new job;
- Any decision that the Commission has taken in relation to requests submitted by the former staff member in question, in relation to previous post-service activities, under Article 16 of the Staff Regulations.
Documents inspected
On 14 March 2025, the Commission submitted the following documents for inspection:
- Article 16 notification of the former staff member in question, dated 20 August 2021,
- Commission Decision on the former staff member’s Article 16 notification and its annex (including a list of cases), dated 1 October 2021,
- Former staff member’s reply in the “right to be heard” process, dated 27 September 2021, and
- Correspondence regarding the former staff member’s potential involvement in cases and matters of DG COMP, concerning his current employer, dated between 5 November and 12 December 2024.
