European Communities Recruitment Office

The European Recruitment Office is being established by the EU institutions, namely the European Parliament, the Council, the Commission, the Court of Justice, the Court of Auditors, the Economic and Social Committee, the Committee of the Regions and the Ombudsman. It will organise competitions to recruit officials and all of the EU institutions and bodies will be able to choose from the list of successful candidates. This will replace the current system where each institution organises its own competitions. It is hoped that the Office will be set up by the end of 2002, ready to organise competitions in 2003.
