Decision of the European Ombudsman closing her inquiry into complaint 1895/2013/LP against the European Court of Justice

Dear Mr L.,

On 7 October 2013, you submitted a complaint to the European Ombudsman against the refusal of the European Court of Justice (the "Court") to grant access to the written submissions of the parties in a closed case.

On 24 March 2014, I opened an inquiry into the allegation that the Court wrongly refused to grant access to the above mentioned submissions and the related claim that the Court should grant access to them.

On 10 July 2014, the Court submitted its opinion on your complaint, following which you were invited to provide comments on the Court's opinion. I received your observations on 27 August 2014.

However, on 8 September 2015, you informed me that, in light of the General Court's judgment in Case T-188/12 Breyer v Commission, issued on 27 February 2015, and the subsequent appeal brought by the Commission on 8 May 2015, you wished to withdraw your complaint since the issues raised by your complaint would now be examined by the Court.

I have therefore decided to close the case.

Yours sincerely,

Emily O'Reilly
