Članovi Europske mreže pučkih pravobranitelja mogu slati upite Europskom ombudsmanu o pitanjima povezanima s EU-om koja su se pojavila tijekom njihovih uvida. Zahvaljujući postupku za slanje upita u kojem Europski ombudsman pomaže članovima Mreže tako što pribavlja stručne odgovore od institucija EU-a, istrage mnogih nacionalnih i regionalnih pravobranitelja i sličnih tijela zaključene su na način koji inače ne bi bio moguć.
