The Ombudsman's Team

To ensure that the institution can properly deal with complaints in all 24 Treaty languages, as well as raise awareness about how it can help people and organisations, the Ombudsman has a well-qualified, multilingual staff. European Ombudsman

Cabinet of the European Ombudsman

The cabinet team is responsible personally to the Ombudsman, working under her direct instruction. It advises and assists the Ombudsman to help ensure implementation of her vision, strategy and objectives.
All cabinet members may accompany the Ombudsman on duty trips as requested, and may help draft speeches, presentations or reports as assigned.

    Overall responsibility for the Ombudsman strategy, interinstitutional relations including European Parliament and cabinet management. Works with the Secretariat-General in ensuring implementation of the strategy. Advises the Ombudsman on communication and outreach activities.
  • Silvia Bartolucci
    Policy Adviser
    Responsible for day-to-day relations with European Parliament, including the Committee on Petitions. Assists implementation of EO strategy, including the preparation of EO briefings.

    Personal Assistant to the Ombudsman
    Responsible for organising Ombudsman agenda, missions and meetings; handles incoming Ombudsman correspondence and invitations, manages cabinet digital archive. Responsible for ad-hoc administrative tasks as assigned.

    Policy Adviser
    Advises the Ombudsman on policy developments, external strategy, and relations with the European Parliament. Responsible for coordination of policy briefings and speeches.

The Secretariat-General is responsible for the overall management of the office and for ensuring overall coordination and implementation of the Ombudsman's strategy.

Communication Unit
