EVENT- European Network of Ombudsmen Conference – 8 April in Brussels

On the eve of the European elections, European Ombudsman Emily O’Reilly organised the European Network of Ombudsmen conference to discuss measures to improve participatory democracy in the EU.

This annual event brought together more than 100 national and regional ombudsmen as well as petition committees from all over Europe. The European Ombudsman chairs the network and coordinates cooperation among colleagues across Europe.

The network members also held joint sessions with members of SOLVIT, the European Commission's cross-border problem solving mechanism.

What we do

The European Ombudsman works to promote good administration at EU level. The Ombudsman investigates complaints about maladministration by EU institutions and bodies, as well as proactively looking into broader systemic issues.
