Decision of the European Ombudsman on complaint 2781/2006/SAB against the European Commission
Decision
Case 2781/2006/SAB - Opened on Thursday | 19 October 2006 - Decision on Wednesday | 20 December 2006
Strasbourg, 20 December 2006
Dear Sir/Madam,
On 24 August 2006, you lodged a complaint with the European Ombudsman against the European Commission concerning the refusal of the Office for the Administration and Payment of Individual Entitlements of the Commission to apply the weighting for Italy to your pension.
On 19 October 2006, I forwarded your complaint to the President of the Commission, inviting him to submit an opinion.
By letter dated 29 November 2006, you informed me that you had received a letter from the Head of the Pensions Unit (of the Office for the Administration and Payment of Individual Entitlements) and a relevant notice of amendment to your pension from 1 February 2006. In this respect, you expressed your satisfaction with the Ombudsman's effective intervention in the case.
As it appears that the Commission has taken the appropriate steps to satisfy the complaint, the Ombudsman considers that there is no need to further investigate the complaint. The Ombudsman therefore closes the case.
The President of the Commission will be informed of this decision.
Please accept, Sir, my distinguished greetings.
P. Nikiforos DIAMANDOUROS
