Inquiry outcome

The complainant was concerned with how the European Parliament dealt with requests for public access to documents relating to trilogue negotiations on the 'Digital Markets Act'. In particular, the complainant was concerned by the delay in taking a final (confirmatory) decision on the requests, which occurred only after the negotiations had concluded. This meant the documents could not be used to follow or engage in advocacy work while the negotiations were ongoing.
The Ombudsman opened an inquiry and sought to meet with representatives of the Parliament to discuss the issues raised.
