Decision of the European Ombudsman on complaint 1236/98/ME against the European Commission
Decision
Case 1236/98/ME - Opened on Friday | 27 November 1998 - Decision on Thursday | 08 April 1999
Strasbourg, 8 April 1999
Dear Mr Ø.,
On 18 November 1998, you made a complaint to the European Ombudsman on behalf of SCHIFF Schönwalder Institut für Familien concerning the European Commission, DG V, and its dealing with your applications for financial support. In particular, you allege that the Commission never contacted you to inform you about the rejections of your applications or to communicate any kind of information to you.
On 27 November 1998, I forwarded the complaint to the President of the Commission. On 16 February 1999, the Commission sent its opinion and I forwarded it to you on 18 February 1999 with an invitation to make observations, if you so wished.
On 12 March 1999, you sent your observations on the Commission's opinion stating that you did not agree with the opinion of the Commission but due to future negotiations with the Commission, you wished to drop your complaint.
The Ombudsman has therefore decided to close the case.
The President of the European Commission will also be informed of this decision.
Yours sincerely
Jacob SÖDERMAN
