Report of the European Ombudsman following her visit to the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE), OI/7/2013/EIS
Dear Ms Langbakk,
I am writing in order to share with you the results of the visit that I made to the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) on 13 December 2013. Please find enclosed a report containing my findings, suggestions and further questions to EIGE.
I hope that EIGE will find useful the suggestions made in the report and that you will react positively to them in an effort to build and maintain an administrative culture of service within the Agency. I would be grateful if you could inform me, by 30 September 2014, of the follow-up you have given to my suggestions. I would be grateful if, by the same date, you could reply to my further questions to EIGE, which are set out in paragraph 55 of my report.
The Ombudsman aims not only to act as a form of external control, but also to be a source of help for those with management responsibilities in the EU institutions, bodies, offices and agencies to improve the quality of their administration and to build and maintain a culture of service to citizens. In addition to my suggestions, my staff and I are willing to give advice on request, within the limits of my competence and resources.
Finally, I would like to thank you and your staff for your co-operation.
