  • Case: 1889/2016/BKB
    Opened on 11 Jan 2017 - Decision on 08 Mar 2017
  • Institution(s) concerned: European Police Office

1. The complainant wrote to the European Police Office (Europol) requesting it to reassess his application in a recruitment competition. As the complainant did not receive a reply, he turned to the Ombudsman in December 2016.

2. The Office of the Ombudsman made contact with the relevant service of Europol in January 2017. In March 2017, Europol informed the Ombudsman that it had replied to the complainant in February 2017 and provided the Ombudsman’s services with a copy its reply.

3. As the matter thus is solved, the Ombudsman closes the case[1].
