Press release no. 15/2004

29. April 2004

The European Ombudsman, P. Nikiforos Diamandouros, has invited comments from the public in the context of his inquiry into the integration of persons with disabilities. This follows the Commission's response to the inquiry, outlining the measures it has taken to ensure that persons with disabilities are not discriminated against in their relations with the institution.

The Ombudsman considers it important to give the public, and in particular persons with disabilities, the opportunity to comment on the Commission's opinion before deciding on the next step. He therefore welcomes comments to be submitted by 31 May 2004.
