Decision of the European Ombudsman on the appointment of a Data Protection Officer
The European Ombudsman
Having regard to:
(1) Article 24 and 228 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union and Article 107d of the Treaty establishing the European Energy Community;
(2) Regulation (EC) N°45/2001 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 December 2000 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data by the Community institutions and bodies and on the free movement of such data[1];
(3) The Decision of the European Ombudsman of 3 September 2002 adopting implementing rules concerning the tasks, duties and power of the Data Protection Officer.
Has adopted the following Decision:
Article 1
Mrs Rosita Agnew is appointed for a term of two years as Data Protection Officer of the European Ombudsman's Office.
Article 2
The appointment shall be registered with the European Data Protection Supervisor, in accordance with Article 24 (5) of Regulation 45/2001.
Article 3
This decision shall have effect as from 15 March 2012.
